- When your puppy needs to go to the toilet, your dog NEEDS to go!
- You need to have your pup outside before they potty inside. Remember they are pups so this is your responsibility! If your dog toilets in the house, then blame yourself!
- The best way to show your puppy where you want them to go is to show them. That means you will have to take them out when they need to go and then praise them when they do their business in the right spot.
- You will be happy to know that your puppy will learn quickly when you give them a treat for going in the right place.
- Puppies have small bladders. An 8 week old dog can only hold on for about 30 minutes.
- After a meal, puppies will often need to go within 60 seconds - be sure to always take them straight outside.
- First thing in the morning your puppy will need to go, take them out
- Before your dog goes to bed at night is necessary to take them out.
- get a name for your dogs business right away and stick with it, does not matter what it is... need potty, go pee, do your business... just be consistent.
Never rub a puppy's nose in it to teach it a lesson....
I am sure you know a puppy's nose is 1000x more sensitive than yours, plus this does not teach them anything.
